The Lake District - Ambleside/Grasmere or Windermere
Its not that far to the Lakes from Liverpool so thought it would be nice to drive up there afterwards for a couple of days of walking/sightseeing.
My favourite place is Grasmere as it is a lovely village and there are walks from the village for all abilities plus plenty to see as there is Dove cottage in the village and Rydal Mount nearby. It is best to have a car for this location but luckily there are 3 of us planning to drive and 3 parking spaces so that is excellent.
So far we have 6 people going and a house has been booked but please do not hesitate to let me know if you would be interested in coming to Grasmere. holidaypam; lisajoa; jenshep; compogirl; Jeanesy; Marie17

Hello,
Suffering from shock due to 30 degree drop in temperature on my return- sunshine to snow. Are there any spaces left on this trip? Happy to bring sleeping bag and sleep on floor if necessary.

Hi Pam,
I would love to go on to the Lakes after Liverpool, so if there is a space please let me know. Hopefully I could travel up with Anita and Jenny if that's OK with them.

Hi
I live not far from the lakes so if you need any local knowledge please ask. I don't have any free holidays left for this year i'm all booked up. I do have a couple of days off during the week and it would be nice to join you for them days, i don't mind paying part of the accommodation costs. I don't want to take up the space if someone wants to go for the full duration of your stay though.

This trip sounds excellent - really wish I could join you. Sadly I am still a work slave and only have a paltry 4.5 weeks per year leave, and am using a lot of that to go to India in March so do not have enough days left to take !
Hi Pam, thanks for the
Hi Pam, thanks for the accommodation ideas, I guess it all depends on how many confirm as to where's best to stay (i.e. if we're more or less than 7). I'm going to be going to Liverpool from work by train with my suitcase so won't be able to bring a blow-up bed, but I can bring a sleeping bag and I've got my eye on those cushions off the settee in Little Parrock to keep costs down! Let me know what the feedback is and, when a place is decided on, details for sending a cheque for the deposit (though I'm away for a few weeks in February).
The Lake District has been on

Hello,
I am interested but am about to go away until February. I don't mind sleeping on floors- with or without mattresses.

There is a lovely half day quite manageable walk from the village up to one of the tarns and you can see it here on this YouTube link which I hope will work! http://youtu.be/nbawUHrgm4Y
If the link doesn't work it is titled Lake District Walks - Alcock Tarn Walks Near Grasmere
Here is another one for the Village itself http://youtu.be/Xt8h9vBUDbM
Enjoy!
