1.      Travel BUG Rewards is only open to registered Thelma & Louise members who have full access to thelmandlouise.com, and who have all completed all mandatory PROFILE fields, uploaded a profile picture and completed their free text ABOUT ME field.

2.      The terms and conditions published on thelmandlouise.com are part of these terms and conditions.

3.      Entry is not open to employees or agents of Thelma & Louise Club Ltd (or their respective families) or anyone else professionally associated with Thelma & Louise Club Ltd or this competition.

4.      Submission of a guide will confirm your understanding and acceptance of these terms and conditions and your agreement to abide by them.

5.      Guides must be published (not merely saved as draft) on thelmandlouise.com and appear in the TRAVEL GUIDES section of the site. Guides sent via email or any other channel will not be accepted.

6.      A guide must be at least 500 words in length and we encourage you to read the Travel Guide Writing Tips when preparing your guide.  This will not only increase its usefulness to fellow members but also improve your chances of receiving the most votes.   

7.      Guides must be personal to and the work of the member submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or previously published on thelmandlouise.com.  It is your responsibility to ensure that no element of your guide infringes the copyright of any third party or any laws, including the terms and conditions published on thelmandlouise.com.

8.      The guide with the most thumbs- up in any reward period and conforming with the terms and conditions will be the winning guide. If there is more than one guide sharing the most thumbs-up, Thelma and Louise Club Ltd will in its sole discretion determine the winning guide based on how closely they conform with the Travel Guide Writing Tips published on  thelmandlouise.com. The decision of Thelma and Louise Club Ltd shall be final and binding any no correspondence may be entered thereinto.

9.      Winning guides are not determined by the cumulative thumbs-up received, but only the thumbs-up in each monthly period. You can publish your travel guide on the site at any point (no matter what day or month) and will still qualify for the current and subsequent monthly rewards. Travel guides published on the last day of a month will be entered in that month’s competition and each subsequent month thereafter.

10.    A winning guide will not be eligible for entry in subsequent months. A member is however eligible for more than one reward even if another of your guides has previously received a reward.

11.    Travel BUG Rewards may change from month to month and are at the sole discretion of Thelma and Louise Club Ltd. Thelma and Louise Club Ltd may at its absolute sole discretion vary or amend the terms and conditions of Travel BUG Rewards or withdraw the prize and you agree that no liability shall attach to Thelma and Louise Club Ltd as a result thereof.

12.    Copyright in all submissions on thelmandlouise.com remains with you, however you grant Thelma and Louise Club Ltd  a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to feature any or all of your submissions, in whole or in part,  in any of its publications, its websites and/or in any promotional material.

13.    The top rated guide will be shown on the front page of the TRAVEL GUIDES section for the month following the reward period closes.

14.    Cash prizes will be sent to the winning member either via bank transfer, online payment systems or by cheque to the winning member’s address (Thelma and Louise Club Limited takes and accepts no responsibility for bank transfer problems, misplaced post or problems in cashing the cheque. Cheque payments will be made out in Pound Sterling).

15.     Thelma and Louise Club Limited will notify the winning member by email within two weeks of the closing of the reward period.  

16.    Events may occur that render the reward itself or the awarding of the reward impossible due to reasons beyond the control of Thelma and Louise Club Ltd and accordingly Thelma and Louise Club Ltd  may at its absolute discretion vary or amend Travel BUG Rewards and/or its terms and conditions and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to Thelma and Louise Club Ltd as a result thereof.

17.    Thelma and Louise Club Ltd is solely responsible for the publication and adjudication of the rewards.

18.    Any attempt by a member to abuse or unduly influence the voting procedure will mean any related travel guide will be ineligible for entry, may be removed and may result in membership of thelmandlouise.com being revoked.  This includes using multiple accounts to vote for one or more travel guides. Members are only allowed one member account on thelmandlouise.com.

19.    If any action on thelmandlouise.com is deemed to be blatant and direct advertising or marketing of your own or any other member’s travel guide, Thelma and Louise Club Ltd may decide to remove the related travel guide from the rewards process. Talking about or using reference to your guides in appropriate conversations and messaging on thelmandlouise.com is acceptable. For instance, you may post a status update saying “I have just added my first guide on Brazil” or point another member talking about Brazil on the forum to your travel guide for information.  Actions that are deemed blatant and direct advertising or marketing include, but are not limited to:

a.      Asking members to explicitly vote for your travel guide (using any communication method included on the site);

b.      Asking members to not vote for another members travel guide;

c.      Sending out private messages to members that are not your friends (as determined by your friend block on your PROFILE) and asking them to read and/or vote for your guides;

d.      Trying to directly influence members to vote for your guide    

20.    A travel guide may be removed or unpublished from the site at the sole discretion of Thelma and Louise Club Ltd and will not be included in the rewards process if it does not meet these terms and conditions; if it is a slightly modified copy of a previous travel guide or if not of sufficient quality (i.e. does not include any body text or is unrelated to travel, trips, adventure, destination guides or any other the Holiday Types defined in the travel guide creation process)
