Has anyone been to WOMAD.....world music and arts festival in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, organised normally by Peter Gabriel?!
I went alone in 2005 and enjoyed it however its one of those things that would definitely be enjoyed with company. It's in July this year, so I'm just sounding out.

Hi M, If you Google it you'll find out more what its about. Its music from around the world, Brazilian, African, Carribean, English, Afro-Celt to name a few types.
Verona, how lovely. Id like to go there sometime. I'm also interested in the Damahur Commune north of Turin. I like all that 'Mother Earth' kind of stuff heehe!

Love a good music festival and Womad looks like something that would be right up my street but looking to do 80's Rewind in Henley again for the 3rd year so would not be able to commit. Hope you get some interest Leisa...now if I had an endless pot of money I would be there in a shot :o)
Hi L - yes i will sounds amazing -
Justhain did not realise you went to henley last year you were not a member then were you? bye M
Hi M, no only joined the site just before Christmas. Rewind in Henley is not far from where I live so have been going with friends and partners for the past few years. We do the whole thing camping, dressing up in the 80's gear etc (went as the village people last year) and pretend to party like teenagers again. I take if from your post you went with other ladies from the site, bet you had a great time :o)

Hi J yes we had a great time we could not get our tents up so bribed a couple of young lads with beer money to put them up we had the best nights sleep
i loved my tent eventhough they all said it was like a scout tent as it was one of those old style things with a veranda at the front! thought the acts were great and the dressing up also a really good laugh. I did not stay for the sunday however the two ladies remaining said it was brilliant also not far from Henley to walk is it we got the boat back just lovely and the hottest weekend of the year which was not great when you were lugging everything from car and back but an experience have fun this year M
Yes I have been to WOMAD a number of time, most recently 2010, it is a great festival and fairly small, haven't decided about whether to go this year as I am going to Glastonbury and usually go to WOMAD with friends who also go to Cambridge Folk -need to get thinking about this. Are you interested in going then? I have a tent and car!
