Travel Companion !!!!!
I am a woman in my early sixties, I am a very easy going healthy, happy sort with no hang ups or temperamental funny sides who just wants to enjoy the time I have left on this planet.
I am looking for a long term travel buddy who has done quite a bit of traveling and who is also looking for the same thing. I wants somebody who is genuine, sharing, honest, reliable and with no strange sides and no baggage. And above all, a brilliant sense of humor. Somebody who is secure in their own skin who is happy to go off for the day if they don't want to do the same thing as me that day.
I am looking to book to go somewhere hot after Christmas in January and do not want to have to pay single supplements as they are a rip off.
Remember, the best laid plans rarely come to fruition, So !!!! if you think you fit the bill, get in touch and I will arrange to meet you. Meanwhile, happy travels.

Hi Rosey,
I just wonder how you are getting along looking for a travel buddy. I'm just sorting out a holiday in Burma but that is in December, and then I continue to Australia to do granny duty. But for next year, ie summer 2013, I would really like to travel overland through Europe to Moscow, and then by train and down through Asia to Australia. Since this is quite challenging, a companion for even a part of it may be helpful.
In general, I just wonder how you go about finding the ideal travel companion. I sacked the last boyfriend partly because he was SO irritating to travel with! Yet a weekend in Prague with my 35 year old son was perfectly easy. Was that because he was well trained?? When I have seen ladies travelling together they seem to be having great fun, perhaps it's because they know they say goodbye when they get home!
Give me your thoughts.
Lois
so true, knowing someone well doesn't make them a good travel friend - the best laid plans etc. Not sure how you tell - meet several times and see if the laughter flows! And yes a willingness to do your own thing and bring back those experiences to the table and share over a glass.
Can't do January but after March I too hope to start doing more travel. Done quite a bit on my own previously especially in the far east but plenty of other places to visit and get to know. Happy to meet up - I am SW London. Jill
Hi Teddie yes I agree think it is good to get an agreement to sometimes do things on your own and meet up later and talk about your findings over a glass of wine. I went on holiday with someone I knew well and then someone who I had not met who was on T and L and they were both successful. Do think you need your own space when you are used to living on your own bye M
You all sound like great travel buddies! My feet are getting *really* itchy :)
Ive booked a cruise for March great solo occupancy rates at the mo if you fancy that? :)
