After a fantastic trip to Highgrove (thanks Joanna) last week, is anyone interested in any of the following: Sissinghurst; Beth Chatto; Wisley; Westonbirt; Petersham Nurseries inc. lunch (!); Sara Raven's courses? There are also lots of excellent and inexpensive cooking and wine tasting courses going on, and I wondered whether we should start two Forums: Gardens and Gardening; and Food and Wine? All ideas much appreciated. Ashley

Love both subjects!!! I live quite a way from all these][Shropshire] but would love a weekend away during the summer. We have Ludlow for fine food and lots of beautiful gardens in close reach--Powis castle,Bodnant, Glansevern to name a few

yes highgrove trip was lovely and so good to meet more members-I would love a trip to the Ludlow area as a member of the NT and havnt seen those gardens. Also wine/food/gardens is my idea of heaven. I was going to suggest a group trip to one of the Sussex/Surrey wineyards as British wine/sparkling is so good now and winning international awards. Some vineyards do tours and lunches, anyone interested?

Yes, interested in vineyards and gardens. Am also National Trust member but don't make as much use of membership as I should.

I have a film committment now till August so cant arrange anything till thats over. But of course if anyone else wants to take it on ....Please let me have your prefered dates if Sept is OK Thanks

Thanks for organising this - September is good and am around most of the time. A Friday would suit me best as I don't work on a Friday, but it is not essential and can always take a day's holiday. Hope the filming goes well.

Hallo everyone - I'm completely new to the T&L site - only found it and registered this afternoon !

Anyway, being an NT member and also living not far from Sissinghurst, Scotney Castle, Batemans etc, etc plus Biddenden Vineyards, which was mentioned in another post somewhere, I would be interested in a gardens/vineyards etc sort of visit sometime !

Also possibly short breaks/holidays re. the above ! It would be nice to do this with like-minded people.
