ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM

Founded in 1912, the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) holds a vast and extraordinarily wide-ranging collection drawn from the fields of fine and applied art, the natural sciences, and archaeology. Special highlights include the dinosaur gallery, and an Asian Arts gallery featuring Chinese sculpture and architecture and Japanese art and culture. The ROM has undergone a major transformation over the years, and many galleries have been restored. The Michael Lee-Chin Crystal addition, a bold crystalline formation designed by architect Daniel Libeskindk, which contains a main museum entrance and cutting-edge galleries, opened in 2007.
