Hi everyone, I am planning on going to Hay Lit Festival again next year late May. I haven't been for a few years as I always leave it too late to find anywhere to stay. Now some people who haven't been think it will be celebs reading books and a bore fest, it is actually completely the opposite, the first time I went I was having so much fun away from the main festival area I actually missed all the shows I'd booked to see, it didn't matter, I was elsewhere browsing and shopping in fabulously quirky book, antique and local crafty shops and at reasonable prices.
Check out last years pages for an idea of what's on.
There's also a fringe festival separate to the main shows and local dances and gigs all at low cost.
Only problem with Hay is that it is a bit tricky to get to and you do need to book somewhere to stay well in advance otherwise you end up having a bit of an adventure in itself trying to find a bed for the night.
I'd like to stay somewhere half decent and plan on going for a couple of nights. Be nice to meet up with people and maybe share travel costs.
