In need of a late summer bargain holiday I've booked a long weekend in Scotland at the end of September, visiting Edinburgh, the Isle of Skye and stopping off in York on the way back. If anyone is interested in joining me let me know!
The plan is to...
Take the sleeper train from London to Edinburgh overnight on Weds 7 Sept, spend the next day in Edinburgh then do a 3-day tour visiting Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Isle of Skye. Then back to Edinburgh on Sun 11 Sept, and onto York on Mon 12 Sept for the afternoon and most of the next day before heading home.
I'll be on a budget, probably staying in B&Bs or nice hostels but going out for food and a few drinks. The sleeper train is £49 at the moment and there are some other cheap advance train fares available.
