I started to think about some of the most useful accessories I take with me when travelling … putting down my top five wasn’t easy, but here I go.

1. Re-hydration sachets: Flights, heavy luggage, hot temperatures and the odd tipsy night add up. I find re-hydration sachets can set me back on track (and are a life saver if the street food you eat doesn’t sit well … sorry)
2. Moisturiser sample sachets. I always ask for samples when i go to the cosmetics counter (perfect at duty free) ... and instead of using them straight away, I keep them so i can remain moisturised in the dry air of an plane (especially if it's long haul) and they of course don't take up much space in your tiny regulation "liquids bag".
3. Kindle e-book reader. I love to read but never have nearly enough room for the various books I’d like to take. My kindle solves this problems perfectly.
4. First defence nasal spray (available at most pharmacies) May seem odd but when I am worn down and breathing recycled air on a plane, I have caught a bug whilst travelling. This handy spray helps stop all that (so I can enjoy my holiday)
5. Local language and translator app on my phone. This is a great way to really embrace the culture and listening to a word on your phone before saying it is a great way to learn.

What are your most useful items ...
