Stay two nights in Vence at Columbe d’or, famous small hotel and restaurant.

Edited version !

I would like to visit St Paul de Vence, in France, which has a chapel with works by Matisse, and windows said to be spectacular when the sun shines through.

I would like to go to Vence by train, and stay two nights at the Columbe d’or, a famous family run hotel full of original paintings. They also have a famous restaurant, where I would like to eat lunch.  The rooms are about £185 per night. I had to put dates in as the site requires this, but I am happy to go any time in September or October, depending on availability at the hotel. It would be nice to have one travelling companion, as I am not very confident using trains abroad, and I don’t like eating by myself in restaurants.

Alternatively, I have been advised that it would be simpler to fly to Nice and catch a bus from the airport direct to Vence. And there is a cheaper hotel very near the chapel, although it would be nice to visit the famous restaurant.

A mid week journey would be preferable.

PS I am trying to change the name Cull Fail, which is not correct!
